Planning your visit
Travelling to Seoul for varicose vein care
Tell us whether you want an examination only or are also considering treatment. We discuss the travel and follow-up plan after reviewing your symptoms and ultrasound findings.
- Assessment and ultrasound first

Tell us before booking
- Tell us your departure city or country, transport, journey length and available dates.
- Describe your symptoms, previous vein treatment or blood clots, and medicines you take.
- Mention any wish to return home that day, lack of a companion or plans to fly.
Prepare existing records
- Bring existing ultrasound reports, images and procedure records if available. You do not need to arrange new tests elsewhere solely to bring records.
- Prepare a medication list with doses. Do not stop medicines or start fasting without individual instructions.
- An ultrasound may still be needed to assess your current veins and plan care.
Plan each stage of care
- First visit: symptoms, history and duplex ultrasound are reviewed, followed by an explanation of whether treatment is needed and the options.
- If treatment is chosen: confirm the method, extent, anaesthesia, observation and cost before setting a date. Same-day treatment depends on findings and availability.
- After treatment: agree on the first follow-up and any further tests. The number of visits varies; a single-visit course cannot be promised.
Before arranging travel and accommodation
- If sedation or anaesthesia is planned, ask about a companion and when you may drive. Avoid planning immediate long-distance driving or a tightly timed departure.
- Discuss long periods of sitting and flights with the team, including your clot history. Departure timing, movement during travel and compression should be individualised.
- Whether you need to stay in Seoul, and until which check, depends on your care plan and recovery.
Plan care after returning home
- Before leaving, confirm walking, work and exercise advice, compression, medicines, your next visit and how to report symptoms.
- Ask which treatment and test records you may need for care near home. Local referrals and remote medical care are not automatically arranged.
- Seek prompt medical assessment for sudden one-sided leg swelling or worsening pain. For sudden breathlessness, chest pain or fainting, use a nearby emergency department or the local emergency number (119 in Korea); do not wait for a clinic reply or travel back to Seoul.
Common questions
Can I have tests and treatment on the same day?
This depends on ultrasound findings, the treatment and preparation required, and appointment availability. Confirm assessment and treatment arrangements separately.
What if another visit to Seoul is difficult?
Tell us before booking. Discuss necessary follow-up, feasible dates and records for care elsewhere. A phone call or photographs cannot be promised as a substitute for a necessary examination or scan.
